MLA Judy Junor Stops In Swift Current
Judy Junor spent the day in Swift Current yesterday touring local health faculties. The NDP health critic also took the time to comment on a new initiative launched this week that will see dental and knee surgeries performed in private clinics outside of a hospital setting. Junor said the government should focus on utilizing resources in Swift Current by offering more local surgeries instead of looking to private clinics to reduce surgical wait lists.

Saskatchewan Premier and Cabinet Prepare for Fall Session
Premier Brad Wall and his cabinet wrapped up a two day retreat in Swift Current on Wednesday.Southwest TV News caught up with the Premier on Tuesday who outlined a number of priorities which were up for discussion at the retreat. The 2011 Provincial Budget, the economy and health care were among the items on the agenda.

Benefit Concert Planned for Local Teenager
17 year old Jayci Wittmier was left paralyzed after a motor vehicle collision. A year ago, her family was told she would never breathe, eat or walk on her own again. Thanks to the help of intensive spinal cord therapy Jayci has made drastic improvements. The Swift Current teen hopes to one day walk again, but the therapy she will need to accomplish this goal is both costly and not covered by insurance. Her family is holding a benefit in her honour to raise money for her treatments. The Jayci Wittmier Benefit Concert will be held September 26th at the Living Sky Casino. The family hopes to raise $15,000 dollars through the event, all of this money will go towards Jayci's treatments. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling 306-773-3477.

Mild Forecast for Labor Day Long Weekend
As the last long weekend of summer quickly approaches, Environment Canada is calling for Sunshine and Mild conditions. Today's outlook includes Sunshine and a High of 20; 22 on Friday; Saturday Sunny and 26 and a High of 17 for Sunday.

Swift Current Broncos Add New Players to Lineup
Five new recruits will wear Swift Current Broncos' jerseys for the 2010-11 WHL season. 17 year old forward Brandon Bruce of Kelowna, 16 year old forward Brendan Hopkins of Airdrie, AB and three 15 year olds from this past springs bantam draft: Zac Mackay of Swift Current, Bobby Zinkan of Calgary and Josh Sinatynski of Ft. Saskatchewan, AB will join the team.
